I am building a dart board out of pallet wood. What finish should I use?

Dartboard made from reclaimed pallet wood.

My choice would be Danish Tung oil or Boiled Linseed oil. My goal would be to minimize oxidation, and keep the rough finish. No need to wax, that is for smoother finishes.

Amazon.com: boiled linseed oil finish

You could also consider a good polyurethane finish, which could do a good job sealing in the wood and be as hard as a floor finish. I always have some kicking around the shop, so you can always seal something without running out to Lowes or Home Depot.

No matter what, I hope you have a great time playing darts!
